Thank you for your prompt response.

There was a blizzard today; I stayed home and read the entire book.

As someone who has done a lot of writing and editing, I wish to congratulate you on a well-thought out and well-presented book.

Professional translation will be a new venture for me, and I have to wait for the occasion to take the ATA exams in my languages. I know I will return to your book soon!

Dear Alex,

I bought your eBook following the plug in the latest ITI Bulletin because, although I'm an experienced translator, I'm experiencing a "lull between two storms" so decided to spend a bit of time and money expanding my horizons.

Having read Chapter 1 (only), I checked my e-mail and found a translation request from a company I had never heard of before. In the past I would have replied rather tentatively, by e-mail. But in view of what you say about the cost of obtaining new clients and the value of establishing a personal rapport with them, I got straight on the phone - - and the job was mine. The eBook paid for itself 5 times over on the very first day. Not bad going!

I don't know whether or not I'll make $80,000 but many thanks for the wealth of useful tips.

P.S. Please don't publish my surname or any other details - thanks.

For now, I need to read your brilliant book end then decide whether I am capable to handle tasks offered in that market.

Thanks for your message. I had in fact bought your book a while

Nevertheless reading that chapter again made me go back and go

Thank you so much for your message and the time you
took to answer.

I have never had peers who are so aggressive and
deliberately destructive as the "chatters" (as I call them).
Yesterday, I simply decided to ask for opinions from
highly successful people in the business. They agree
with you, even the one who is a member of ATA and is
a linguist by training.

With the help of your book I will design a better, less
time consuming marketing plan. Naturally, this plan
will not include venues where "The incompetent
translator" is a daily headline.

Thank you so much for your vote of confidence,

however, after I moved to the US I realized if I wanted to

Your book explained everything I needed to know - and thanks to

applying your strategy to introduce myself to translation

I am not a "new" translator, but the world has changed
substantially since I last worked as a freelancer -- no
electronic communications then; you basically had to present
yourself in person at the translation agency to pick up material
in hard copy -- therefore your advice has come in very handy.

Dear Alex,

I bought your book about one year ago when I was doing odd part-time translations here and there. After I read the book I decided to do some marketing. I sent out my resume and my covering letter to many agencies around the world. However, my largest success was achieved here in Poland, where quite a few domestic agencies hired me on freelance basis (mostly in Warsaw). Today I am a full time freelance translator (mostly from Polish to English) earning 4-5 times as much as I was earning a year ago working out of my home without having to listen to any bosses. I really appreciate what you have done for the community. Good job.
