As always, I would like to strongly encourage people to ask questions. Your anonymity is assured, unless you specifically want to be named. Keep the questions coming - if you don't know the answer to something, the chances are someone else doesn't either. I hope you find tranfree valuable and enjoy reading it. Please tell all your friends about it. Alex Eames
translatortips.com Announces translation-agencies.comLast month I mentioned a new joint venture in the pipeline. This has now been finalised, launched and is already there for you all to see. The new venture is called translation-agencies.com ( http://www.translation-agencies.com). The purpose of the new site is "helping translators find better clients". The site has a similar 'look and feel' to that of translatortips.com and is intended to be another major resource for translators, with a heavy emphasis on job listing services and Payment Practices. The first product available at translation-agencies.com is Karin Adamczyk's Reputable Translation Agencies Database. I strongly recommend a visit, since there is plenty of FREE information available at the site! Just go to http://www.translation-agencies.com
This tranfree's Feature Articles...
Hot Topic - translation job listing services newstranslatortips.com is very proud to announce sponsorship of two excellent FREE email job listing services. Translation Job Opportunities (TJO) and Jobs-Translators. Full details of these services are available at http://www.translation-agencies.com on the NEW job listing services pages. As always, I am on the... Aquarius - RapidResponseAquarius is the original and largest searchable translator database on the web and has many thousand visitors every single day of the week! Translators and agencies can register themselves FREE at http://aquarius.net Clients looking for a translator go to Aquarius and can search on a whole variety of fields e.g. language pair, country etc. I have received work from people who found me through Aquarius. In fact, most online translators I know have met up with some new clients through this site. Aquarius classifieds has new jobs listed daily, but there is an exciting new development at the Aquarius site. It's called Aquarius RapidResponse. It is a system where clients list a project with Aquarius and then the project details are automatically sent to every member of the Aquarius database who meets the project criteria. e.g. If I'm looking for English to French translators who specialise in legal work, I register the project details and if you meet these criteria you will be sent an email about the project. Does that sound interesting to you? If so you must be sure to get yourself listed at Aquarius. If you already are listed you must make sure your details are up to date. People change email address very often these days (I lose about 1-2% of tranfree subscribers every month due to address changes). So go and check your Aquarius record or create one if you're not listed! Visit Aquarius at http://aquarius.net
Experts on the WebExperts on the Web is a career-oriented web site for language translators and other independent consultants. Other features include e-mail alerts that notify you when a recruiter views your profile and a statistics page that shows how many people search the database each day. Every potential client is able to contact translators through an online form. However, no personal information is ever revealed without prior consent.
