I noticed you are asking about dictation software. I purchased Ibm's Via Voice in Spanish and English, I also tried Dragon's from a frien. Anser. Forget it, don't spend your money in it. Maybe it is useful for short simple e mails or that sort of thing, but in our work it is useless. You may spend an etrnity trying to train it, it will never follow the speed of your dictation and you will end finding out that it is faster to do it yourself that to dictate, review, correct, etc. I do legal translations only and I can not take the chance of mistakes so it just is not good enough. Maybe in the near future ther will be better versions. As far as I know they are not fast and accurate enough, even with Spanish that is phonetic.
I have the versions of 1997, but I have not heard of new ones. If you ever find a wonder that works well, please let me know.
Regards,
Laura

I noticed someone else inquired about dictation software and received
: no response. I wanted to know if anyone here has any experience with
: such software (i.e., Dragon Dictation, ViaVoice) and how they like it.
: Am strongly considering advancing to the use of dictation software
: because I've heard how much productivity can improve, after a good
: period of training -- yourself AND the software!
