: : I am using Word 7.0. For some reason I was thinking that the word counter counted the spaces. But I wasn't sure.
: : So, what is this CountIt you were talking about? A little curious about it.

: I have Word 97 (isn't that the same as yours?) Anyway, if you go under File / Properties and choose Statistics, it provides all sorts of statistics: pages, paragraphs, lines, words, characters and characters with spaces. If you're concerned with words, why would it matter if it counts the space that follows each word or not? Besides, hopefully you're only using the word count to give you an idea of the size of the project and not as the sole basis of your charge. I hate to see anyone charge strictly on a per-word rate, like factory piece-work. I don't see our product as the words we type (maybe that's why some like to produce such wordy translations), but as the final piece we deliver. (Sorry, I tend to hop on my soapbox any chance I get! : I'm not familiar with the CountIt program I'd mentioned earlier. I'd only heard it discussed in a different message board. : Regards, : Betina I fully agree with Betina and her soap box, but have a question. How do you calculate your prices then?
