I have just received a proposal to work on a steady bases for a large agency called Logos (Modena, Italy). I have never worked as a professional freelance translator except for occasional jobs. I am very interested in working in this field but in order to get the experience needed the agency requires that I work for them on-site. I would have to leave my present job as export manager earning about Lit. 40.000.000 ( US$ 20.000)take-home yearly.
1)Can anyone give me some information about this agency?
2)How much can I earn net yearly as a translator? (I'm bilingual Italian-English with a language degree)
3)I don't really like my present job and I wouldn't mind changing but I have 2 children and my wife is presently unemployed.
I would really appreciate if anyone could kindly give me some answers or tips. Your personal opinion is more than welcomed.
