Dear Alex

First let me congratulate you for the service provided by this site.
I have been working as a free lance translator for over three years, translating from English to Portuguese.
Most of my jobs are legal or social issues, but I am interested in going further and to start learning to work
with software and other forms of translation on line. Could you help me on how to start?
For example; what sort of software is a "must have" for a good translator? What about the languages used in computer
which are relevant to a translator. What courses should I look for in order to give me the right foundantion on my career?
I have recently sent my CV to a very reputable company of software translation and when thy sent me back the test I got very upset when I could not complete the test.
I got stuck on those pages I am hereby sending to you.It is frustrating, because I know I can provide a very good service but lack computer skills.
Apart from these questions,I also would like to know why is FTP importante for a translator, how do one find out the language used on it and what is OS and which languge uses?
As you have probably noticed I am in the dark! Please help me.
Coud you kindly answer me as soon as possible or give me some direction on where to get help?
Thank you very.
Regards
Luiz Severo

+#$KCreating titles
Creating a new title
Even though you can create a title while working in a project, a title is an independent file, separate from your project. Like any other clip, it doesn't become part of your video program until you add it to the Timeline. You can work with more than one open Title window at a time, or use a title in more than one project.
To start and save a new title:
1 Choose File > New > Title.
2 Choose File > Save As.
3 Specify a location and filename, and then click Save.

+#$KCreating titles
Setting up the Title window
The Title window provides ways to help position titles accurately. For example, if you plan to superimpose the title over a clip, you can import a frame from the clip for positioning.
