: Hi everyone,

: Any idea on what is a normal agency commission rate for interpreting/translations. Sorry, I know it's not an easy question. I've just been asked for a quote by an agency and I looked up their advertised fees on the website(but those are including their commission) so if I could figure out the commission rate I could probably give them a reasonable fee. I am based in UK, working on Eastern European languages. Thanks for any insight.

I would say anything upwards of 30%. I can't imagine anyone accepting less. I think most agencies like to keep about half of the fee. But I know a lot are evenmore greedy than that.

Just go for something you feel comfortable with and don't worry toomuch about what the other party gets :)

Hope this helps

Alex
