I own a small Japanese<-->English translating company and am finalizing a tie-up with an agency in Japan. International payment options have me stumped.
I have considered:
(1) credit card payments (the CC company would take 2-4% of the total)
(2) international wire payments (cost about $20, so would not be cost-effective for small amounts and requires a trip to the bank or the use of services such as American Express)
(3) finding a bank with international payment transfer options (and I have had no luck with this)
There has to be a simple solution, and with all the translators around, I'm sure people have gone through this very problem before. I would appreciate any input, either general or specific to US-Japan payments.
As well, if anyone has any info about the tax ramifications of international business and payments, please post it here.
In a pickle!
