Actually, I have no advice here either. Unfortunately just another question. I'm doing a translation for another grad student and I'm trying to figure out the fairest rate to give him. I was charging him by the hour (I thought even translators charged by the hour...and I gave him a good rate) but he seemed a bit shocked by the bill I gave him--is it standard practice then to charge by page or word? And if so, what's a fair price, usually? (I need the money, but since we're grad students at the same school, I know he's not rich and just avoiding the bill--and what's more, he has a new baby, so I really want to make sure I'm not over-charging him).
Again, any advice will be appreciated.
