Hi Richard,

Just joined this forum. Here's a bit of late info, for kicks: I looked at the site http://europa.eu.int. Seems that the European Commission has divisions called DG's (for Direction Générale, I guess, since the first person they list is the Directeur Général). Currently, they name them, as in "DG Politique Régionale", but they used to number them - I saw "DGXVII" somewhere. So, DGIV would be "Direction Générale 4". (Heck, the search was fun).

Regards,

John Jost

: Hi everyone. Can anyone help me with a French acronym? It is "DGIV" and it refers to the European Commission. The full phrase is "il serait prudent de notifier ce projet a la DGIV de la commission". I'm guessing that it's "directeur" or "department" generale de something, but don't know! Please help - urgent!
