I live in Oldsmar, near Tampa Bay, Florida State, U.S. and I'm looking for a job as a
translator of movies, news, reports, etc. (I think it's called translating subtitles).
Could you advice me or give any recomendation, please?
I have searched in the Internet but I did not find anything (maybe I don't know how to do it right). I really need help.
Thank you.
Good luck. Bye.

Hi,
I would suggest you look aaround this site, which is really well-done and maybe buy the book or the agencies mailing list. You are sure to get some answers. Then I would recommend that you contact the translation agencies in your area and the international companies, ambassies, press agencies, any company or organisation which works with languages.
If you are surfing the web you can try ProZ.com, elance.com, aquarius.net and some newsgroups.

That's how I started two years ago and I get more and more work!

Good luck, don't give up

Thank you very much, Tascha. You gave me a great idea and a very good orientation.
Let me tell you that I have been waiting for an answer a long time.
I would love to visit Vienna someday (I've heard it's a beautyfull city) and perhaps I could thank you personally.
If you need anything, please send me an e-mail and let me know (I'm your friend already), ok? My e-mail: fitoncho@uol.com.ar
Good luck, Tascha and thank you again.
Goodbye.
