Hello, I am based in Jerusalem and work from time to time as a freelance Arabic-English interpreter helping to prepare documentary films. Most of the work is simultaneous translation, back and forth between the two languages, and the days are usually between 10 to 12 hours. I have very little idea what the going rates are, per day, as well as per month (for longer-term projects that pay salaries), and would like to hear what the range is. A further question: many times, overnight stay away from home is required. Do some translators specify extra cost for this type of occurrence? I'd appreciate hearing from translators anywhere in the world, not just the Middle East. Thank you, Miriam IP: 128.139.226.36 |
