Hello!I am 44 years old and have been studying Russian; I have always wanted a second language and now have become practically obsessed with Russian. I have been to Russia and Ukraine several times now and just loved the opportunities I had to act as a translator or interpreter for the people with me, or those whom I have met while I was there. Well, as much as I would love to actually be an interpreter or translator, I lack formal education and at this point in my life I wonder if it is really worth even considering. It's hard to say without knowing you better. It really depends how good you are.Translation is about the written word. Interpreting is about the spoken word. It seems like you have been doing a bit of ad hoc interpreting and enjoying that. I don't want to put you off at all, but it really depends on ability. Qualifications are useful, but not essential in most countries. ------------------
