Hi everyone,What is the meaning of "Ask for referral" and "take referrals" ? It is NOT in the context of being directed to a medical specialist. It is in the context of a survey during an interview by phone. Many thanks in advance, Denise IP: 83.199.113.36 |

I believe "Ask for referral" means to ask your former employer(s)for a recommendation letter stating that you worked with this company successfully, was an very good worker, etc. ------------------ Igor Shevkoplyas English Russian translator IP: 195.5.12.233 |

In the context of phone survey, asking for a referral could also mean asking the client for names of other people they know who might be interested in participating in the survey. The referrals are largely used in the sales settings, when a sales person asks their client to refer them to an acquaintance who might be interested in their services.
