Hi, I am a state certified translator. I am going to do a contract job for a traffic school and I wanted to know if this amount is descent. There are 48,000 words. It is a manual which includes quizzes and finals. They are offering $1200. Is that a fair amount? Thanks for your helpIP: 64.80.6.36 |

I assume you are in America since you mention state certified. 2.5 cents per word is very low for a professional translator. That is the rate you would expect to pay someone in a third world country. 2 to 3 times that rate would be typical. 4 would be better. But at the end of the day it is up to you what you work for.
